Chalanda L. Tucker, a consummate Project Management Professional (PMP), sits at the helm of Strategic Framework, LLC, an Atlanta-based organizational development firm. Having orchestrated successful lifecycle implementations in the public and private sectors in arenas including academia, financial services, retail, healthcare, technology and telecommunications, she brings more than 20 years’ experience to the industry.
Ms. Tucker is a proven leader who intently endeavors to provide organizations the framework needed to effectively and efficiently achieve their vision, mission, goals and objectives. Prior to serving full-time as the leader of Strategic Framework, LLC, she served as Director of the Strategic Program Management Office for Atlanta Public Schools’ (APS) Accountability and Information Technology division. She was responsible for managing a team of project managers in the successful completion of critical strategic initiatives and process improvement efforts and maintaining and customizing the district’s Project Management Methodology. Under Tucker’s leadership, APS project management courses were developed and delivered to district employees, subsequently spearheading the successful implementation of the system’s most critical projects that drove student achievement. Tucker also led APS in securing its designation as a Project Management Institute (PMI) Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). This designation places APS at the forefront of educational entities increasing the level of project management maturity within their organizations.
Tucker is also credited with leading and managing the initial implementation of the State of Georgia’s Enterprise Portfolio Management process, which served to ensure alignment of State agencies with the State’s overall IT Governance strategy. Through this dual role, she was entrusted with leading the organization in the development of a framework to incorporate Portfolio Management Best Practices throughout the State’s numerous agency IT organizations.
Tucker’s unique professional experiences are undergirded by her certifications. She earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification at the Project Management Institute (PMI) (Newton, PA). She also earned her Master’s Certificate in Project Management at George Washington University’s School of Business and Public Management (Washington, DC). Her Certificate in Information Technology was earned at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA), and she completed Kaplan-Norton Balanced Scorecard Certification from the Palladium Group (Boston, MA). Additionally, she holds an MBA from the University of Louisville’s College of Business, and she graduated from Spelman College with a degree in Economics.
A true community servant at heart, Tucker’s volunteer involvement is quite expansive. She works with The George Washington Carver Scholarship Fund and serves on the boards of the Continental Societies, Inc. – Atlanta Chapter (Immediate Past President and Secretary), and Playworks Georgia (Member, Education Committee) and the Center for Character Ethics (Chair, Strategic Planning Committee. Additionally, she matriculated through United Way’s Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) Initiative. She is also a member of the Project Management Institute – Atlanta Chapter and the Association of Change Management Professionals – Atlanta Chapter.
